CDARC CONTEST AND PORTABLE OPERATING HISTORY
NEW 2010
Please look at this file of 43 early photographs from the club records and let me know if you can provide any more information, or, if you know somebody who might, draw their attention to it. More photos to follow soon. This batch is from early to late 1970's I guess. Click on this text.
Welcome to the Cambridge & District Amateur Radio Club contesting history site. The club now has a professionally run web site and new committee, this site is no longer an official part of the club's marketing but is being kept for now as an historical record.CLUB WEB SITE LINK. It is very much a work in progress, there is a lot of material still to make it to the site. If you can help with more or can identify any of the people, especially from the early years then please contact me.

Some of the photographs may have taken by others but it is believed that their sources have been acknowledged and that permission was given to post them on the site. I have really enjoyed my time at CDARC and have been privileged to serve on several committees. I have been awarded the Granville Trophy 3 times for services to the club, oddly, the Davy lamp for a best talk and several of the special trophies over the years. My main role was to organise field and contesting weekends and social outdoor events, which I feel are at the heart of Club life.
The Cambridge area is very active with contest groups, many of their current members having been inspired by CDARC events.
